The desert of babahege

Chapter 1 punishment

It was a bright and hot summer day in the kingdom of Sir Pablo, the sun had just risen and not a cloud in sight.

Long ago Pablo was a brave knight and worked his way up to being a king with respect for saving hundreds, then left his town many miles away and started his own kingdom.

Now king Pablo is very old and wise with a long beard and dark brown eyes, he is also not skinny but not plump.

At this time in the day king Pablo was thinking to himself about his son who had just gone to war with a native tribe, for he feared his son would be injured or may die.

Just then he heard the familiar voice of one of his guards say.

“Sir! thorn has stolen again and has gotten away what do we do!?”

“Well, you’re a guard for my kingdom are you not?” replied King Pablo.

“Yes bu- “

“No buts! Do you not know how to do anything by yourself! bring thorn to me immediately!”

“Yes, king Pablo”

“Pfft guards these days don’t even know what to do if you don’t tell them”.

So, the guard went into town where a man named Bruce thorn may be for he had a reputation of stealing and everyone int e kingdom wanted to stop him from stealing for the last time.

Then the guard went into town and told some men working to help him find thorn for the other guards were busy on watch or going to war.

“You three come with me we haft to get that Bruce thorn has stolen again and the king wants him!” said the guard.

So, the men agreed to go help find and bring him to king Pablo.

At that time Bruce Thorn was running because he was hiding and over herd what was said about him.

“Dame Thorn, you’ve really done it this time now the king wants me!”

Just then Bruce herd

“HEY, YOU! get over here you’re wanted by the king himself!”

For many minutes the three men and the guard chased him until he was in a dead end.

Bruce tried climbing over an eight foot wall in the way but quickly just before he got over one of the men pulled his leg bringing him down.

“Gotcha you’re in a dead end come with us or he will haft to forcefully take you there!”

Bruce knew there was no use, so not wanting to get hurt went with them willingly.

As they entered the room of the king Bruce had many regrets about what he did for those who are seen by the king for doing something wrong are executed or cast into the desert.

“Thorn, you have stolen for the last time” Pablo said in a big boomy voice.

Bruce said, trying not to seem afraid.

“I fear no man and I don’t fear death!”

“Very well since you do not fear death, as your punishment you will be cast into the desert of babahege.”

“But those deserts are dry with almost no animals to eat and no water to drink!”

Pablo said, “exactly thorn, far well, guards take this fool out of here.”

“Yes sir” replied the guards.

As the guards put him into the horse drawn carriage and began riding to the desert of babahege Bruce began to think,

Was stealing to save a couple pennies worth it?

When they started riding on the edge of a cliff by the ocean Bruce had a dreadful feeling something was bound to go wrong.

Then one of the horses saw a snake and got scared, then tried running away but couldn’t because it was tied to the carriage, so it fell off the cliff taking the carriage with it.

They fell into the sea crashing at the bottom.

Bruce was inside the carriage and as water started to pour in, he kicked the door open with all his strength, then a rush of water came in pushing him against the wall.

After the water came in, he swam to the surface and made his way up the cliff by climbing.

As he looked back to see if the guards were alive, he saw them screaming and getting attacked by sharks!

He walked a couple of miles in search of a town but to his surprise he was int the desert of babahege!

Now Bruce walked through the desert all alone with no food or water.

He walked for several days and nights and found no water and no animals except for lizards and scorpions that he ate after starting a fire with rocks and sticks and cooked them.

It was day seven with very little food or water.

As he began to feel no strive to live sate down and started thinking about what crazy things had happened to him.

As he walked farther he saw a lizard of great size this lizard was so large it could feed him for the day so he slowly got up hid behind a big rock and looked the lizard was facing the other way, so it didn’t so or hear him then he picked up a rock put it behind his head ready to through it and thought to himself,

I only have one chance at this if I miss, I will lose a good meal!

Then with a big swing he killed the lizard!

He grabbed it by the tale and to find stick and stones to start a fire and cook it.

He did feel bad about killing the animal but if it meant his life over the lizard then he wasn’t as sad.

The next day he looked for more lizards but found nothing, he began to feel very hungry and tired, he felt he couldn’t walk anymore and fell to his knees then fell face first into the sand.

With sand in his mouth and burnt skin he had no water for almost a week and felt that he would rather die than try to live.
